He established Makalu Adventure in 1998. The Makalu Adventure team goes with his vision and has established us among outside world. He himself takes care of our international relations.

He was  the Treasurer of Trekking Agents Association of Nepal (TAAN), elected by representatives of more than 550 trekking agencies in Nepal.

He is also President of Porters Progress Nepal  for ( 2009 to 2011)

Working in this field for more than 28 years, he knows the best how to get there.

Roy Francis MM FRGS - Expeditions Director - UK

Roy is our Expeditions Director. He is the owner of adventure travel company Pilgrim Expeditions in the United Kingdom. Together with Roy we have done several strenuous and demanding trekking and expeditions. He has been member of successful British expedition to Mount Everest.

Roy has trekked in the Nepal Himalaya to raise the fund of £30,000.00 for Cancer Research UK in 2002.

He has mountaineering experience of more than 30 years.

He was former in British Special Security forces.

Sandesh Acharya - Executive Director

Sandesh Acharya is Executive Director of Makalu Adventure group, which incorporates three tourism service organizations in Nepal, with more than 42 employees.

He joined Makalu Adventure in April 2002, and in 2006 became Executive Director. From 2002 to 2006, he served as Executive Correspondent, Operations, with primary responsibility of new destination research and program development. He also represents Makalu Adventure in international Tourism Shows and Exhibitions.

He holds the GDS training for Travel & Tourism, credential from International Air Transport Association (IATA). Less than 5 percent of all association professionals in the country have achieved this mark of excellence.

Laxman Lamsal - MD, Travel Section

Laxman is MD of our Travel section. His responsibilities include making reservations on internal flights and issuing tickets per our client's requirements.

His section is always ready when we have to check last moment availability on flights, or change the dates depending on condition as it comes.

Kiran Kumar Sharma - International Director

Kiran Sharma is our International Director. He carries out business deals with international partners for our company.

Tengi Jambu Sherpa (Tenzing) - Senior Guide (Trekking Sirdar)

Tenzing is one of our most experienced, and knowledgeable guides.  He holds the record of handling almost all the groups he has leaded to be successful. When there is Tenzing with our groups, we are always assured.

Our British Expeditions Director Roy Francis rates him as 'second to none'.

Whether it is while on crossing Sherpani Col in ever tougher conditions (across 6000m) or at hidden valleys of Dhaulagiri (temperature reaching below - 26°C), he has done his best always.

He is from Solukhumbu, famed for the land of Sherpa people and Mount Everest. Tenzing is with us from when Makalu Adventure was established.

Jangbu Lama - Trekking in Nepal Senior Guide (Nepal Trekking)

Jangbu has spent a whole of his career as trekking guide. There is arguably no trekking route in Nepal Jangbu has not been. Now he is 52, but his experience and enthusiasm are the keys our returning groups always ask him to be their guide.

Jangbu has been associated with us since our company established. He has been a role model to our younger guides and support crew.

He is also from Solukhumbu, famed for the land of Sherpa people and Mount Everest.

Lhakpa Gelbu Sherpa - Senior Climbing Sherpa

Lhakpa has climbed the world's highest mountain, Everest three times successfully, and K2, the 2nd highest as well.

His has recorded successful climb on Kanchenjungha, Makalu, Dhaulagiri, Cho Oyu, Shisapangma, Ama Dablam, Pumori, Kanguru, Thamserku, and all trekking peaks in Nepal including famous Island Peak, and Mera peak.

He assists our expedition groups as well as peak climbers. In 2005 Lhakpa will be climbing more than 14 peaks, including 2 mountains above 8,000 metres.

Ang Kami has spent whole of his career as a trekking cook. Now into 22 years!
Five star chefs will struggle to cook the same menu that he makes in treks while you are camping.
